It was her nature. Her parents had raised her to be proud and for once in her life, she had listened. Not listening in general was a side effect of being proud. Raeanne was a people person. Just not a people pleaser. Either people liked her or they didn’t. To Rae, opinions didn’t matter. This was something her parents hated about their picture perfect daughter, the one they had raised to be delicate and a socialite, and how that plan had backfired so horribly. Rae didn't live to please anybody but herself. At seventeen, she was a wild child, a bit of a partier and was very ambitious. That particular day, Raeanne had her third Transfiguration class of the year. The term had just begun and Rae was sick of Transfiguration already. Even though she didn't necessarily need to take it, having it would give her the edge that she needed to get her a Ministry official. Unlike most of her fellow Hogwarts students, Rae had her sights set on something greater. Power, money, and success. Namely power. Her parents had settled for mediocrity, but Raeanne wouldn't. That was what motivated her to keep taking Transfiguration. Unfortunately, it didn't make her like it anymore. Transfiguration had just ended and Rae couldn’t have been any happier. The stupid teacher had called her out on her poor silent spells, as if Rae could ever forget she was horrid at them. Luckily, it was Rae’s last class of the day and the signal for next classes had just gone off, so she was all alone. The entire fourth floor population was either in class or gone. Silence surrounded the area. Rae was usually surrounded by people she called friends, but lately she had found herself alone more. By choice, of course. Ever since the attack at the end of the last year, Rae had begun to find most of her classmates dimwitted and annoying. But a few days back, Raeanne had met a sixth year Ravenclaw that she found interesting. The boy in fact, was the middle Potter child. Albus Potter. However, Rae did not talk to him because he was a legacy or any other reason like that. It was a chance meeting and she found him to be someone she could tolerate. But because they were in different years and houses, he would probably be little more than an acquaintance. That thought made Rae slightly sad. So she took out her wand, and absentmindedly played with it. It was a bad habit, maybe even slightly dangerous, but it calmed her nerves and gave her a false sense of security. And more than anything, Rae needed some sense of security. lor: #808080; font-size: 9px; text-align: center; text-align: center; font-family: georgia; width: 400px; text-transform: uppercase; line-height: 10px; margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 10px;] © melly welly from caution 2.0 | LYRICS BY FLORENCE & THE MACHINE OUTFIT: HERE | --- WORDS | NOTES: This SUCKS. sorry. >.< |

Albus slowly jotted down the last of his potions notes before he packed up his things and bolted for the corridor. It was the last class of the day and thank god for that Albus already was buried under all the homework assignments his teachers had piled on him and it was only the 3rd day of classes! Albus however needed a break. He needed solitude, a cigarette, and a piano. He quickly ran up the staircase taking two or three steps at a time until he reached the towers, hurrying to put his things away into the common room he found his cigarettes, said hello to a couple house mates and he stalked out of the room.
His favorite spot was usually the astronomy towers but since it wasn’t dark out yet, there were students hanging out up there. He scowled not wanting to deal with the same people he had spent all day with. He silently wondered what his siblings were up to…. and he prayed that James didn’t land himself another detention otherwise there would be a very angry howler from his father that would also be directed at him for not making sure James didn’t do anything stupid. He wondered if Lily was on the Quidditch pitch she probably was….she was all nervous for the tryouts coming up. He pushed his family out of his thoughts and started descending the staircase thinking of places he could go. He figured all the music rooms would be full of kids practicing their instruments right now so the chance of getting a room to himself with a piano in it was slim.
Coming to the fourth floor he decided that it looked empty enough and he walked along the corridor, he paused however when he saw a girl by herself fiddling with her wand. He recognized her….it was Rae….the girl he had a good conversation with by the lake a few days ago. He smiled she was definitely someone he could relax with right now. He walked over to her casually, noticing the sad look on her face as he approached. “Bad day?” he asked, piercing the silence of the hallway. And he moved over to where she was sitting and sat down across from her against the stonewall.

The voice came out of practically nowhere, startling Raeanne so badly she jumped. After calming herself down, she tucked a thick lock of blonde hair behind her ear and turned to face whoever it was. Albus Potter. " Yeah sorta... Transfiguration is killing me." She said with a grin and a shrug to let him to know she wasn't being serious. The brown haired boy sat across the hall, facing her looking rather restless himself. He didn't seem in a hurry to get anywhere, and with this, Raeanne came to assumed that he already had his last class of the day. " But what about you, Albus? You look like the day hasn't been particularly kind to you either?" An easy smile spread to her face, he already looked stressed and she didn't want to agitate him any further. Rae tucked her wand back into her bag silently, hoping Albus wouldn't notice she had even had it out. Yet another absent minded habit of hers. Ever since she first got her wand, she had fiddled with it. As a child her mother scolded her endlessly about it, saying she was going to blast her fingertips off- at best. As far as over protective mothers went, Natalie was at the very top of the list. If Rae was caught playing with her wand, she would get yelled at as if she was a four year old child. It drove Raeanne bloody mad, and so like so many other things, Rae just came to oblige the rules in front of her mother and then did what she wanted when they weren’t around, which was often. So as a general rule, Rae tucked her wand away in front of people and opted for something a little less 'dangerous'. Instead she chose to gnaw on her lip or fingernails, even though she had never injured herself before and doubted the possibility. People seemed to adore Raeanne, in all of her flaws and quirks. She was blunt and noisy, and a huge flirt. Over the years she had accumulated more than her fair share of boyfriends, earning more than a few enemies as well. Of course, the people that mattered to her liked her. This still was a wide range of people, and so she knew when things were going on. Someone had told her that the Quidditch teams were practicing today before tryouts. This probably included James and Lily Potter, though Rae didn’t want to ask the youngest Potter about it. “ Uhh. So I heard the Quidditch teams were practicing today…” She said cautiously, not daring to finish the sentence she had started. lor: #808080; font-size: 9px; text-align: center; text-align: center; font-family: georgia; width: 400px; text-transform: uppercase; line-height: 10px; margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 10px;] © melly welly from caution 2.0 | LYRICS BY FLORENCE & THE MACHINE OUTFIT: HERE | WORDS: That many? | NOTES: Random muse ftw?!. |

Albus grinned as he saw her jump, he did do that a lot to people since he liked to walk gently on his feet rather than stomping around like most guys do acting like ogres. Getting a better look at her face now that he was sitting across from her he decided not to voice that comment. She spoke and he listened not before his smile lessened. "Transfiguration is killing you huh? What are you learning about? Actually i can imagine it being hard, it's difficult in NEWT year i can't imagine it in 7th year....." he said conversationally trying to make her feel better even though he enjoyed transfiguration very much and was doing decent at it. It was Potions that he struggled with. Listening to the second part of her question he shrugged and shifted his back against the stone wall. "Eh...just sick of people....lots of unneeded homework....you know just another day of school...." he replied looking away from her down the hall all the assignments looming in his mind.
He turned back towards her in time to notice she was putting something away quickly, his eyes narrowed for a second it was her wand. He smiled but not noticeably obviously that was a habit of her fiddling with it. But it was also obvious that she didn't wand anyone to know so he pretended he didn't notice. Albus himself had many habits that were embarrassing such as sleep walking, and muttering spells under his breath so he practiced the pronunciation. His dorm mates all were used to him getting up in the middle of the night and pacing the dormitory. At first they made fun of him but then once they got to know him they liked him and realized how mysterious and fascinating he was. Now they try to be his best friend which at first Albus really liked since he was always an outcast but he knows now why he is in fact an outcast. As for muttering spells, some people look at him like he's crazy, talking to himself. A rumor even got out that he hears voices. Where they came up with that Albus still has no idea.
Rae mentioned Quidditch and he looked at her curiously not knowing whether she was leading them into a conversation about him and his family or with her and her free of flying. "Yes i'm aware....my sister has been practicing like crazy i had to drag her off the pitch last night...." he said grimacing remembering her complaints. Then he quickly smiled "Wanting to join the team?" he asked sarcastically grinning at her. "You know i'm going to get you flying sometime. I swear you'll love it." he remarked wagging his finger at her at his last sentence.

She was good at that, ignoring things she didn't want to talk about/ Raeanne could hide her emotions very well and buried her problems deep below the surface, leaving her demons to come out when they may. After a few seconds of waiting for Albus's response, he spoke again. " Transfiguration is killing you huh? What are you learning about? Actually i can imagine it being hard, it's difficult in NEWT year i can't imagine it in 7th year....." Albus asked her, thought Rae didn't want to talk about it anymore. The frown that took over his face was genuine enough, so Rae decided to answer as calmly and sweetly as she could." Turning large live animals into inanimate objects using silent spells. You know, it's funny, i never thought we'd use those stupid things ever again, but i guess i was wrong." Raeanne said with a small grin and a shrug. Although Albus seemed genuine, Rae remembered something from their conversation by the lake that seemed to suggest that he liked Transfig, but Rae decided to just leave that topic as is, not wanting to venture into a conversation about Academics she could not possibly care less about. As far as her question about what he was doing he answered her. " "Eh...just sick of people....lots of unneeded homework....you know just another day of school...." " I hear that."Rae mumbled back, almost to herself. To her, her seventh year was just for surviving. It was hard for her to change her mindset from summer back to fall, and September was not kind to her. She was restless, pacing and twisting her wand. Idiots talked endlessly about propaganda, spread from unreliable tabloids rumoring that the Dark Lord had returned. Noise in the Common Room got to be so bad that Rae wanted to bang her head into a wall four times a day. So if she could avoid it, she would. Quidditch. Oh how Raeanne loathed it. As a child, she had been determined to master the stupid sport, but then she broke her shoulder in two places after a rather nasty fall. Flying never was her favorite thing, or something she was good at. Since then she hated talking about it, it made her sick to her stomach. Her shoulder still looked like it was broken, a physical wound that would never go away. " "Yes i'm aware....my sister has been practicing like crazy i had to drag her off the pitch last night...." Albus spoke with a grimace, and he sounded serious. Rae could only nod, not sure how else to respond. But then he smiled and his tone turned joking again. " "Wanting to join the team?"" Raeanne shook her head with a fierce grimace. Clearly Albus was enjoying this, and if Raeanne had doubted this, she couldn't deny it when he continued to speak. " "You know i'm going to get you flying sometime. I swear you'll love it." Rae flinched and responded, " I know that you think it's hilarious, but I've sworn to myself that i'll never get back on a broom. It terrifies me. The day you get me flying is the day hell freezes over and pigs fly." Rae spoke with a sharking voice and a shudder. She knew Albus was only joking, but just the thought of it made her want to cry. But she was taught as a young age not to show weakness, so she sat up straighter and smiled broadly. © melly welly from caution 2.0 | LYRICS BY FLORENCE & THE MACHINE OUTFIT: HERE | WORDS: That many? | NOTES: Blah.
