• LILY LUNA POTTER
• LILY LUNA POTTER
FULL NAME: lily luna potter
NICKNAMES: lily, lilykins, whatever name james comes up with on a whim
AGE: fifteen
YEAR AND HOUSE: fifth, hufflepuff
OCCUPATION:
WAND: 11'5 inches of rosewood with unicorn hair and ashwinder ash
APPEARANCE
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
the only child of the potter's to inherit the weasley's infamous red hair, lily is quite proud of her wavy curls and likes to keep them long, even though a full head of long hair is heavy to carry around and difficult to manage. most of the time, she wears her hair down, yet you'd see her with her hair up in a bun or a single ponytail sometimes. lily is only fifteen yet already 5'7, and still growing. her figure is lithe and willowy, her movements having a certain awkward grace - though she's quite clumsy and prone to knocking things over.
regular hours spent in the quidditch pitch practicing the sport had given her physique a leaner appearance, but her face is soft and open. her eyes, which is often considered her best feature, appears wide and innocent, and her irises are a light hazel flecked with gold. she has a small button nose and soft mouth, and her bottom lip is slightly bigger than the top one. she dislikes her ears - which turn red when she's embarrassed or nervous - and prefers to keep her hair down so that it hides them. she has a comforting aura and a strong presence.
PORTRAYED BY: natalya piro
PERSONALITY
PATRONUS: gray wolf: the christmas of her first year at hogwarts, each and every one of the weasleys and the potters had gone to her grandmother, molly weasley's house, where there was a large feast in the garden - people were sitting down cross-legged on the ground as there wasn't enough tables and chairs to accomodate the large party, and james and teddy lupin and helped her uncle george weasley to perform tricks and provide entertainment. by midnight, every one was full and happy, and curling up against each other under the great sky. and as she lay there she curled a hand around hugo's - her favourite cousin - and felt like she could live forever. the presence of her family around her, and the contentment in the atmosphere, had created the happiest memory of her life.
BOGGART: losing the people she love, losing her family.
STRENGTHS: empathetic, easily picks up on the moods around her, good at quidditch, excellent at charms, fiercely loyal, a great friend
WEAKNESSES: clumsy, easily anxious, afraid of being alone, arithmancy, day-dreaming
FEARS: ignorance, not being acknowledged, being alone.
GOALS: make something out of her little self, make her parents proud, ride a dragon someday, become a dragonologist
PERSONALITY:
it would be a mistake to assume that james is the only trouble maker in the family and let your guard down around lily, because she has quite a few tricks up her sleeve. although trouble-maker doesn't define her personality, lily has quite the sense of humor and likes pulling off pranks, though most of the time this is limited to her time with her oldest sibling, james. she has a exuberant sense of humor and enjoys a good laugh - she believes it's the foolproof way of making people happy, and in lily's world, that's one of the most important things. this little badger is prone to putting other people ahead of her, as she's selflessly gracious, as her father pointed out once upon a christmas when she gave away all her presents to a muggle family in the neighbourhood who weren't doing too well after the father of the family lost his job. and there in begins her hufflepuff personality.
she's a fiercely loyal little one who'd stand up for her friends and family, but can be quite timid when it comes to herself. while she doesn't like to get pushed around, she doesn't like to ask for things either, so most of the time she does blend into the background somewhat. when she was little it bothered her that her brothers often stole the spotlight, but as she's grown used to it it doesn't seem to matter that much. however, she still cherishes strong dreams about accomplishing wonderful things so that her parents would notice her strengths, and be proud of her. among the many things she subtly seeks, appreciation is the most vital - not getting acknowledgement for something she had done can upset her. she tends to be rather emotional, and it doesn't help that her eyes show each and every one of her emotions expressively.
working hard is a habit ingrained in her bones, as she's had to do so to outshine her brothers in their studies -something she's quite determined to do, just so that her parents would talk about her for once instead of boasting about james or albus's abilities.. ginny and harry were wonderful parents, but they could be a little dim when it comes to the needs of a teenage girl, and lily was their only one. her family had often joked about how she takes after both her partial namesakes as well as her mother, ginevra, a fact lily is very proud of as she loves her unusual aunt luna, and her grandmother lily, about whom she'd heard a lot of, a lot. she also loves her family more than anything - her family means the most to the little red head, who's gotten so used to having her uncountable relatives around that she's grown to quite dread the world without them.
people who'd just met lily would describe her to be mild-mannered and soft-spoken, noting her to be polite and shy. and lily can be quite shy, when it comes to people she hasn't met - she's afraid of making the wrong first impression and ends up holding back. she's drawn to people who've suffered emotional traumas and she loves helping people out - being the shoulder to cry on was never something she minded being. she's more of a listener than a talker, though if you got her started she could babble for hours. she can be quite reserved though, choosing to hold back her feelings and talk about trivial things rather than herself - her sense or proud doesn't allow her to open up about herself. yet she's warm and welcoming and loving to those that need her, and you'd find a true friend in her any day - but still, be wary, for you never know when she might pull a prank on you.
lily likes to dream of things, impossible things - and she's not afraid of setting her expectations high. in love, lily wouldn't settle for elss than the best, something that irks her suitors as she's fussy about whom she dates. in life, she wants to become a dragonologist, like her uncle charlie, whom she positively adores. her ambition was born from the time when harry - against ginny's best wishes - told the kids about the time he'd ridden a dragon once, and little lily was filled with wonder and her admiration for her father had increased tenfold that night. not that she didn't already follow him everywhere when at home, ready to be the helping hand and reluctant to leave his side.

HISTORY:
born of seventeenth april two thousand and eight, lily luna potter was named partially after her paternal grandmother lily evans, and her parent's good friend luna lovegood. 'lily' comes from the name of a flower, which is a symbol of purity, while 'luna' is another name for the moon. she was the youngest of three children, but unlike james and albus, who took after her father's side of the family, lily inherited typical weasley characteristics and their fiery spirit. she takes pride in this, as she takes pride in her family, and her family means the most to her. from a tender age it was apparant that she doted on each and every family member, and she loved being cuddled and held by them. she was particularly close with her uncle, charlie - she was forever fascinated by the callouses in his hands and could never understand why he didn't marry - and her father, harry, whom she tended to follow about everywhere.
she was constantly envious of her older brothers, for getting to ride the broomstick way before she was allowed on one, for getting to go to hogwarts before she could, and also because she felt as though her brothers often stole the spotlight from her. harry and ginny were more concerned with james, the troublemaker, or albus, the timid one - or atleast it appeared to her to be that way - and therefore she made up her mind to be james's right hand girl in every prank that he pulled. it was a tough going, as she was barely competent at it starting out, but over time she became better at thinking up and executing pranks, earning her the respected position of james's sidekick - when the rest of her cousins were not around, that is. and that was rarely, as the weasley-potter family was close-knit and they often spend a lot of time together. lily loved those occasions, and she was glad to melt into the background in the chaos of her extended family if such a time came, because there were so many people about. she was used to crowds and people, and the first time she found herself alone she cried her dear little soul out.
she was eight when they had gone shopping for james's school things in diagon alley, and among the crowd she somehow managed to get swept away from her family. finding herself alone in an unfamiliar shop, she cried herself into a panic attack and was unconscious by the time ginny finally found her, and they headed back home without buying anything that day. the memory is both embarrassing and terrifying to lily, who doesn't want to be lost in a crowd or away from her family, ever.
she started flying at age four, and was thrilled to find that she had inherited her parents natural ability on the broomstick - in the years that her brothers were away at hogwarts and she was at home, her favourite thing to do was to fly, as she was determined to make it onto the house team at hogwarts. when she was not flying she liked to read up things, and she loved to be over at her uncle ron's house so that she could spend time with hugo, who was not only her favourite cousin but her best friend. it was a little disappointing when she was placed in hufflepuff and he in ravenclaw, yet they managed to keep up their strong friendship over the years. at hogwarts she was shy about making friends, but made a group of close knit friends during her second year - she has several acquaintanceship she's on speaking terms with, but she prefers to be with her family and at times can be quite the introvert.
she's quite beautiful and as a result, has been asked on several dates starting her third year - mostly by older boys - but she refused to go out with them as she can be quite fussy when it comes to whom she dates. if they disliked her for it she was prone to go into hiding for a few days, and she takes recluse under the wings of her brothers and cousins - she has way too many than she can count - whom she knows would always look out for her. she has yet to learn to stand up for herself, but the life is still young/
NEED TO KNOW
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
if she had started dancing alone in a crowd back in maryland, nine times out of ten someone would join her within five seconds. people she knew and people she didn't clamored for her company, the most popular girl at school, the one who had it all. people were drawn to her like bees to honey, and she liked to think it had something to do with who she was - until that incident, and everyone she had called a friend had dropped her like a bad habit. her life went from perfect to terrifyingly painful so fast it made her dizzy to witness it, but her fall from grace took no less than her coach finding out she was pregnant, and the news spreading like wildfire in town. in a town where gossip was rare, any tidbit of juicy rumors were jumped upon and devoured - and as shay happened to be one of the most prominent figures of the teenage crowd, there mere mention of her name in a rumor was enough to have the whole town discussing it. having babies out of wedlock was a sin, and what shay had done was unforgivable - but perhaps things would have been a little easier if the daddy of her baby had actually owned up to the fact.
beneath her closed eyelids she could picture him - the messy hair, the first thing you noticed about him, the heart-melting one-sided smile that made every guy in the school worship him and every girl want to fuck him into oblivion. she was the head cheerleader, and he was the soccer captain - their relationship was inevitable, fate bringing them together through mutual consent and butterflies in their stomachs. he was the perfect gentlemen, the type to hold out your seat for you at dinner and the type of boy that every parent adored. he was the son of the town's mayor, and he grew up in the spotlight - unlike her, he never had to struggle for popularity, he didn't need to break a sweat to get to where he was. he was arrogant and air-headed and stubbornly protective of her, and she, like the rest of the town, believed they were meant to be together forever. it took one night where they'd both forgotten to use a condom to break the spell - he hadn't wanted his perfect life soiled by the bun in her oven, and backing out of their relationship faster than she could say, "i'm pergnant." he'd gone on to tell the entire town that the baby wasn't his, that she'd spread her legs out for another man while she was with him. his word was law - who would doubt the golden boy of the town?
"a new face," distraction was sweet. her eyes fluttered open to take in the profile of a young man - probably in his late teens, or early twenties, leaning against the crowd, his eyes on the crowd. a moment later they swept back to her and she found herself looking into the piercing green eyes of a stranger, one she could not recall noticing before. "please tell me you got a lousy service, i heard they pulled the barkeeper out on the streets." in the moment that it took for her to gather her surroundings and note that she was in ehu's island - not maryland - the technicolor of the crowd and the warmth of a voice speaking to her helped steady her thoughts, and she found herself managing a swift smile in response to what he - the stranger, and a decent one at that - was saying. "i didn't notice, i guess i was too distracted by the music." she said with a laugh, pushing away few lose strands of blond hair from her face. "maybe i should order a drink again with more attention to the service."
