FULL NAME: sarai arabella anniston
NICKNAMES: -
AGE: sixteen
YEAR AND HOUSE: fifth, ravenclaw
OCCUPATION: n/a
WAND: 11½ mahogancy, manticore hair core
APPEARANCE
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
the splitting image of her mother, at sixteen she stands at 5'5, with a lithe built and a somewhat delicate frame. she weighs at about hundred and ten pounds, and has long, arching eye-brows and thick lashes. her rather pixie-like features are framed by long strands of wavy brown hair, though she's prone to experimenting with hair color and styles. she likes surprises, and therefore likes to make a surprisingly good first appearance, as she's learnt that first appearance are of utmost appearance. though she isn't a girl to live infront of the mirror constantly worrying about her looks, she does take care that she appears presentable at all times.
her preferred choice of clothing would be anything comfortable, and you're most likely to see her in muggle attire - t-shirt and jeans, or a dress if she was feeling particularly exuberant. her wardrobe consists of light colored clothes and colorful arrays of scarves, sunglasses, handbags, and other accessories. her weaknesses are footwear, as back home she has an entire cupboard dedicated to it. she's rarely one to plaster her face with too much make-up, preferring to look natural.

PERSONALITY
PATRONUS: realizing that she was a witch. this happened about fifteen minutes after a strange-looking woman had turned up on her doorstep claiming to be from a magical school to which sarai had been accepted in, and handed sarai a letter to hogwarts while patiently explaining how she was magical. after the initial shock and sceptism had worn off her eyes had sought out that of her mother's from across the room, and her mum's confused but encouraging eyes had made her dismiss the notion of a hoax and embrace what she was to be true - a witch, would you think of that? and her entire life she had grown up wondering why she could do bizzare and out of place things, and hoping against hope that she wasn't a lunatic that needed to be sent to an asylum.
BOGGART: getting knocked-up and left alone with no one to fend for her but herself, and giving birth to a kid and realizing that it was a monster, not a human, she'd created.
STRENGTHS: clever, opinionated, soft-spoken, well-mannered, strong, decisive, patient, manipulative, persuasive, head-strong, clever
WEAKNESSES: slightly cynical, cold, pushes people away, unable to open up/let people in, bottles things up, insanely high expectations of people and situations
FEARS: being physically isolated with only one man for company, not being able to overcome her fears so that the nightmares would stop, betrayal
GOALS: become as strong a person as her mother, refrain from falling for the bullshit most people pull off pretending they have innocent intentions, not let on how much she's hurting, finish hogwarts with seven outstanding NEWTS
PERSONALITY:
many would describe sarai as something of an enigma, who always seems to hold back what she's really thinking/feeling. though few remember a time when she was a more open person, everyone of her friends - and even her mother - would say she was something of an introvert, preferring to keep her thoughts and feelings to herself and wearing a mask to get through the day without being question/probed too much. secrecy and being aloof is of utmost importance to the ravenclaw, who believes it is a little more than a bit foolish to trust people - anyone. she's learnt that lesson the hard way and continues to be a cynic, despite her mother's best efforts at getting her to see the world in a more optimistic way. to her, the world is black and white with nothing in between. its either a yes or a no, and never a maybe.
she's highly intelligent, beginning to do complex maths equations at five, to the delight of her mother. she's also a genius of music, immersing herself in sound and noise. no matter where she was she'd be able to discern some note or another in the air. she has a brilliant memory and could recollect dates and significant other events.s a great admirer of nature, she'd have loved to paint or express it on paper using any type of colors but found she's utterly drab at anything artistic. she's logical and clear headed and can think under pressure, and she's pretty level headed. she knows where her priorities lie and never mixes them up, and she's stubborn and likes to believe she can accomplish whatever she sets her mind to. she's the type of aim for the moon till she gets the moon.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
- sophia isobel streep, mother, muggle, psychiatrist
- alan joseph anniston, father, pureblood, whereabouts unknown
- august simon anniston, uncle, pureblood, whereabouts unknown
HISTORY:alan and simon were identical twins born into close-knit pureblood family, and they managed to stay close well into adulthead. one winter night towards the end of november when they were twenty, the two brothers decided to drop by a muggle pub, where alan found himself caught up by the woman who served behind the bar, a pretty dark-haired lady with pixie-like features. simon was drawn to her too, but when he saw that his brother was interested, he backed off and left the pub after wishing alan good luck. in the night, alan somehow managed to get a very drunk sophie to a nearby motel, and when she woke up the next day he was gone. a few weeks later she discovered that she was pregnant, at twenty one years old when she was still young and single and staying at a rented apartment with one of her college-mates. for reasons she could never recall later, she decided to keep the baby, and nine months later on the sixteenth of september, sarai was born. sophie considered it a good thing that her daughter looked like a miniature her, because she didn't think she'd have liked to be reminded of alan, gentlemanly though he'd been he'd ditched her after that one night when she'd thought she felt strongly for him.
up until the age of three, sarai lead a pretty normal life - she pooped, cried, ate, snuggled up to her mother, started speaking at seven months, started walking sometime later, loved to be cuddled, knew when to be quiet when her mother was studying, and was overall a lovely little girl. but about seven months after her third birthday strange and unexplainable things started happening around her - flying dishware, clothes, and cats notwithstanding, she even burnt one of her own eyebrows by some freak accident. sophie did not know what to make of it, but hoped that it would go away. she did take sarai to a doctor or two, who couldn't explained what happened but muttered something about sophie not being completely right in the head, from when on sophie dismissed any attempt to diagnose her daughter and tried to live with it hoping sarai would outgrow it. for a single mother sophie was the best, but sarai was never one who could fit in with other children - she was too different and she knew it. it didn't help that she was smart and preferred mathamatics over play-dough, either, but sarai became a misanthrope at an early age, preferring no one's company but her mothers.
when a representetive from hogwarts turned up with a letter for hogwarts on her eleventh birthday, she was a tiny bit skeptical, but in the end she had to believe that this was no lie, and no, she wasn't a lunatic. there were other children like her, other perfectly normal children who attended a school and tried to get it under control - the thought had her in seventh heaven, and over the next few weeks she was the most excited little girl around. she loathed to part from her mother - who was the best in her opinion - but she found she loved hogwarts, loved the people there, loved the house she was sorted into - the first year for her was a blur and probably the happiest time of her life. she was a little more loosened up and open during that time, and every return to hogwarts marked a great new adventure. in her third year she became the top of the year and determined to complete the school with seven NEWTS at the least, in the typical sarai-has-high-expectations fashion. in her fourth year she started dating a guy called rafael davies, who was a fellow ravenclaw and also an extremely-good-looking guy.
but the next summer changed everything. her father, alan, turned up on their doorstep and rushed her mother into his arms confessing how much he'd been thinking about her and missed her, and sophie, after much convincing, gave in and decided to give alan another chance. alan was invited to stay the week at their house, but he also brought another guest with him - simon. the weekdays as she remembered it was utter bliss, going to places with her parents and uncle and finding out things about the wizarding world from her father and his brother that she'd never heard of before. that weekend, alan took sophie to another town to see a show, and sarai was left alone with her uncle simon. she didn't know why what happened next did, but after taking away her wand and immobilizing her, her uncle raped her while she tried to scream but couldn't, and he was gone before her parents came home. paralyzed with shock and fear and finding herself numb to all feeling, she spent the next few days under the covers till her father was gone, then broke down and confessed to her mother all that had happened.
to sophie, her little girl mattered the most, and she immediately ended things with alan without offering an explanation and begging him and simon to stay away from the family. in her psychiatrist style, sophie tried to fix sarai, but to no avail. sarai seemed to withdraw deeper and deeper into herself, losing the twinkle in her eyes that she'd had since she was a child. though sophie did not want sarai to go back to school that early after everything happened, sarai was persistent, and started hogwarts as usual - but keeping to herself mostly. she broke things off with her boyfriend and tried through class, finding out that being numb slowed down her thought process - for the first time in her life exams were a struggle, but she passed all her subjects, even though she didn't get the outstanding owls she'd hoped for. she kept away from people and built up a reputation of an enigma, and during the summer she tried to do what she thought was best to keep her mother happy, and now she's returning to hogwarts for her sixth year, but nothing has changed and she's still broken.
